Program
Benefits
More than ever, success in business is greatly dependent on the effectiveness of teams. It is often assumed that teams are formed by gathering together a group of people with the necessary skills needed to reach a particular goal. But the reality is that creating a high-performing team requires much more than simply putting competent people together and pointing them in the right direction.
Team Power helps teams increase their effectiveness by embracing six critical, research-based success factors of high-performance teams. Designed for both intact work and cross-functional project teams, Team Power enables teams to assess their current performance against these key success factors. Using the team's actual current work requirements, participants learn and apply the six success factors to their real world.
Team Power helps teams:
-
Unite around a shared mission
-
Recognize and better leverage each team member's individual talents
-
Set clear goals, priorities, and agreements
-
Improve their decision-making skills
-
Learn and apply a new, lean, problem-solving process
Program
Description
Team Power is comprised of five activities organized on one learning map. The team begins by discovering more about one another personally, particularly the unique talents each person brings to the team. The team then checks its alignment with the company's vision, goals, and initiatives and crafts its own shared and organizationally aligned statement of purpose.
The team then either writes SMART goals that ensure its alignment with business objectives or verifies that its current set of goals aligns with the Team Power criteria. The team also establishes its key agreements. These agreements describe how the team will work together, hold team members accountable, and, in general, set the culture of the team. Participants learn a lean, practical, and innovative group problem-solving process (PDL) and apply it to real business opportunities.
Team Power also facilitates the team's exploration of its communication and decision-making processes. These methods and processes if not explicitly defined and agreed upon, can bog down the team's efficiency.
By the end of the learning day, team members are clearly focused, newly engaged – and exhausted. A full productive day of working within and on the team always gets results.
Team Power may also be used as a diagnostic tool. As teams work on their performance and development, TEAM 14© (a Web-based team-effectiveness survey) identifies improvements and opportunities over time.
Audience
Team Power is designed for leaders, managers, team leaders, and individual contributors who are focused on high-performance team development. It is designed for teams to experience as an intact group. (Teams that have received maximum benefit from Team Power attend together as a team.)
Implementation
/ Customization
Implementation is typically one full day including a debrief session. Workshop size can range from six to fifteen participants. The client's mission, vision, and values are embedded as part of the customization process.
